Introduction

“%zle” is inspired by the word “Puzzle,” symbolizing how design is a process of piecing together essential elements. The “%” symbol is reimagined not only as a visual element but also phonetically—echoing the “Pu” in “Puzzle” when pronounced in Mandarin. This creative wordplay merges language and imagery, shaping a unique identity for the exhibition. The “%” also represents each designer’s growth from 0% to 100%, with every student in the 33rd graduation show being an irreplaceable piece of the whole. Design is more than a finished product; it is a journey shaped by creative struggles and technical exploration. Every obstacle becomes part of a transformative experience. The exhibition embraces “transparency” as its core concept. Open, flowing spaces allow visitors to engage with works from multiple angles. In collaboration with the Material Library, we’ve used a curated selection of materials to construct the space—visually echoing puzzle-like connections between textures and ideas. A modular, assembly-based structure mirrors the theme of fitting puzzle pieces together. At the same time, we uphold sustainable practices through the 4R principles: Rent, Reuse, Recycle, and Reduce—crafting a space where aesthetics and environmental responsibility coexist. “%zle” represents not only the puzzle of design, but each designer’s path to completion.
