Nowadays, there is an increasing amount of people who suffer from dementia and the ages of them are getting younger and younger. This is why social resources and awareness are crucial because these people need extra care from the younger generation. However, there is still a majority of people who don’t understand dementia, which definitely causes a lot of misunderstanding and stereotypes. After actually spending time with the elders suffering from dementia, we discover that even if the syndrome affects their daily life, most of the elders still preserve their own thoughts and skills. As a result, “Memory Online” plans to present their capability via new media like podcasts and videos to clear the misunderstanding of dementia. “Memory Online” will invite three people who suffer from dementia to the show and share their past stories with the public. By doing so, we expect to break the hostile stereotype of dementia and bring a brand new perspective to our society.
