Our planet is burning, the air quality is getting worse, 68% of vertebrates disappeared between 1970 and 2016, scientists are talking about a “collapse of biodiversity” and even a “6th mass extinction crisis”. Our project “On the 8th day” anchored the current debate about the climate crisis and also the Anthropocene concept, a geological era in which humans are the main force of change on earth. Referring to the bible, our short film shows the eighth day of creation : It took 7 days to create the world, it only took one to disrupt its balance. With this short film, we decided to bring to light the links existing between living beings, and the complexity of their connections, that we chose to represent using sewing threads. One thing leading to another, this basic concept grew and gave rise to these colorful visuals based around materials such as fabric and wool. We now invite you, through this short film and its unconventional narration, to discover a unique planet full of life and to live a few moments of this distinctive 8th day. We hope that it can open a thought on the planet of tomorrow. Enjoy the movie !

"In Gooseville, the inhabitants live off goose hunting and booze drinking. An advertisement for the local wine introduces us to this way of life. Sadly, the association of alcohol and gun shooting turns out to be devastating for the goosevillagers. There are too many accidents, and the demography ends up divided by two.
A news broadcast hosted by a goosevillager informs us that hunting is therefore prohibited and that the local church will be transformed into a goose feeding factory. The village modernizes.
A weather forecast shows the climatic damage due to industrialisation. This new factory overconsumes gooses and rejects toxic water. Gooses are now an extinct species, and the flooded village is invaded by frogs. Gooseville becomes Frogville.
The now called Frogvillagers feed off frogs. The factory being forced to close, hunting is legal again and new weapons appear. A TV shopping program showcases this new weaponry and teaches us how to use it on frogs. There is an escalation towards the most radical and efficient weapon, until the extinction of frogs and the total destruction of Frogville.
Hope is at his lowest. There are no more species to consume and no more lands to exploit. A televangelism show is hosted to remind the villagers of their mistakes and above all, bring a new hope. A tadpole !
The village becomes Tadpoleville and throughout a documentary, villagers think of a new way of breeding the new specie. For better or for worse, till the absolute destruction of the world."
