Ceramics, inherently formed by nature, serve as an artistic medium. Through various sculpting techniques and the fusion of different natural elements in high-temperature firing processes, they evoke diverse natural aesthetics. This series captures elements from nature, reshaping, interpreting, and creating with ceramics. The pieces undergo surface treatments, firing, and color variations.

Using ceramics as a medium, this series captures and transforms the textures of igneous rock. Translating irregular textures into pixelated blocks. Through firing variations, the process of igneous rock formation, cooling, and the spread of verdant moss is revealed. Presenting diverse geometric possibilities. Through various surface treatments and firing methods, the stages of igneous rock formation and cooling are depicted.

Stand Up!

Department of Crafts & Design, National Taiwan University of Arts

"Hey! Why are you tearing off my roof?" "These Taiwanese people! How dare you step into my house." "I often get stuck in these holes!" "It's time to stand up and show them what we've got!" Beneath the surface, an undercurrent of resentment stirs... What lies beneath the rough and pitted roads? —————— Taiwan's roads are full of bumps and potholes, Tripped by the bump on the road happens daily, but it does not mean triviality. Since it occupies such a small part of our lives, uneven roads are rarely given much attention. It's considered normal, but it shouldn't be. —————— Who would have thought that the paths we tread and the roads we crush are actually destroying someone's house? Taiwanese people's neglect and inaction towards potholes exacerbate the rough conditions. The creatures living underground suffer greatly, and if they rise up in protest, can we continue to ignore the issue of road conditions? Instead of waiting indefinitely for repairs, it's better to stand up with these creatures, proactively understand the problems, and explore the future of smooth roads together. —————— Road safety is closely related to our daily lives. Humorously speaking, every step a pedestrian takes might affect the home of an underground creatures' states. Back to the issue, how should we rethink urban planning, traffic safety and social responsibility etc.? Let's start by paying attention to what's underfoot and addressing every pothole. Let's "stand up for what's right and make a difference!"
