When it comes to snakes, many people react with fear and keep their distance, sometimes even persecuting them without realizing the impact on their lives and habitats. Consequently, the preciousness of conserving snakes in Taiwan is often overlooked, hastening the extinction of native snake species. Through this book, we aim to reduce the public's aversion and prejudice towards snakes, and awaken conservation awareness.

Taiwan officially entered an aging society in 2008. Individuals aged 65 and above are classified as elderly by the World Health Organization (WHO). A comprehensive investigation into the challenges faced by this demographic revealed common issues such as difficulty in prolonged standing, increased risk of falls, and declining physical strength, all rooted in muscle health. Notably, sarcopenia, characterized by age-related muscle loss, emerged as a significant concern during our data collection process. As aging leads to physiological changes, failure to make early improvements may result in the risk of incapacitation. However, teaching materials and books related to sarcopenia have not yet been popularized in Taiwan. Our team adopted a dynamic and inclusive approach to sarcopenia education, empowering middle-aged and elderly individuals to recognize the signs of muscle loss or the seriousness of sarcopenia in advance. Unlike conventional materials that often emphasize age or employ terms with special meaning, our communication strategy focuses on the equitable dissemination of preventive knowledge, promoting a sense of physical fulfillment among our target audience.
