Facing exacerbated marine pollution, recycling ocean garbage is a symptomatic solution. Raising awareness of ocean conservation is fundamental and sustainable. Tapping into Virtual Reality, providing immersive, imaginative and interactive experiences to inaccessible time-space, our team designed a VR game The Trash Isles, telling a mysterious story in 2050 dystopia. Where would teleportation lead the player? What is the connection between the disappeared grandfather and the mysteries of predators? Would Plastic Arts be taken literally? The staging of future horror would arouse people’s catharsis to atone with our MER(E) before it’s too late.

Sustainable Pineapple Paper Aquatic Plant

Department of Visual Arts and Design, Nanhua university

Environmentally friendly pineapple paper made from pineapple leaf fiber is converted into a planting substrate. It not only turns agricultural waste into resources to help farmers increase their income, promotes recycling and sustainability concepts, but also allows people to think deeply about ecology and environmental protection by participating in plant growth, and achieving sustainable development goals.
