Inspired by the Asian cultural symbol of the origami crane, our overall spatial design incorporates this element to represent hope and blessings. We aim to create a space that offers physical, mental, and spiritual comfort for the elderly, providing them with care that ensures peace of mind and dignity. Given the uniform size of classroom spaces, we adopted a modular insertion design strategy, enabling the reuse of abandoned school buildings. As long as the structural integrity of the building is sound, our modules can be seamlessly embedded, forming a new approach to repurposing abandoned schools. This not only reduces waste and the need for new construction materials but also allows for rapid assembly—addressing the future demands for flexible and multi-functional elderly care environments.
