Inspired by Maokong's unique pothole geology, "Meow Around" is a wayfinding system that reimagines the area's original name ("wrinkled holes") as the footprints of a guardian giant cat.

To cut through the visual clutter of the mountain town, we utilized a high-contrast palette of Warm Orange and Deep Blue, paired with custom feline-themed typography. By replacing rigid warnings with engaging icons, we transformed standard navigation into a playful treasure hunt. Ultimately, this system does more than point the way—it invites visitors to rediscover the hidden surprises of the tea hills.

Playful signage with Maokong's big cat. Custom typography featuring cat silhouettes. Signage mockups in actual streetscapes. Merchandise extending brand identity. Collectible tourist souvenirs and promos.

Still But Alive

Department of Graphic Communication Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts

Embracing a chill, laid-back attitude as our starting point, we explore how the younger generation navigates self-alignment and reflection within a fast-paced, comparison-driven culture. Through the synergy of visual imagery and graphic design, we showcase the possibility of breaking free from the shackles of competition and living at one’s own pace—proving that "slowing down" is not just about resting, but a proactive stance on life itself.
