“SOIL COLOR STUDIO” was inspired by our participation in food and agricultural education programs organized by the XinShe Vegetable Cooperative in Yunlin, Taiwan. Through these experiences, we began to rethink the hidden value of leftover vegetables and the environmental issues behind agricultural waste.
We discovered that many vegetables are discarded due to appearance, size, or market standards, even though they remain fresh and full of natural color. This observation led us to experiment with transforming vegetables such as beetroot, leafy greens, purple sweet potatoes, and pumpkins into natural watercolor pigments.
By combining sustainable materials, artistic creation, and interactive experiences, the project aims to reconnect people with agriculture, the land, and the concept of environmental circulation through design.
