This project takes Maokong in Muzha, Taipei, as its site of inquiry, exploring relationships of coexistence within the ecosystem. Using a two-volume publication as its primary medium, it approaches the subject through the dual perspectives of “maintaining stability” and “transforming structure.” Through anthropomorphic and site-based narratives, the work invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with nature and reflect on their position and responsibility within the environment.

The core concepts of this work are changing the structure and maintaining stability. The viewer sees themselves reflected in the image, implying that the viewer is also part of the ecosystem. Narrate and design from the perspective of tea gardens, species, and people. The symbiotic page uses records and collages to describe stability as not static, but continuous. It presents a distinct, slightly translucent texture, enhancing the sensory effect of parasitism. The green and purple puzzle pieces are interchangeable, creating a visual representation of symbiotic balance.

In Africa and Southeast Asia, poverty forces many residents to walk barefoot for extended periods. Many regions rely on used shoe donations for aid, but these shoes often depend on long-distance transport, during which the soles easily age and break, rendering them unwearable and wasted. Therefore, we want to improve this situation.
