Life rises and falls; when we feel depleted, we need a change of scenery—
Ascend is a journey that helps travelers step out of noise, step into serenity, step up to Maokong, and step back to yourself. Through these four stages, you can savor Maokong’s ease and tea aroma, and gently return to the rhythm of life.

Maokong, located in the mountainous area of Taipei, Taiwan, marks the boundary between city and nature. We use the most iconic transport—the Maokong Crystal Gondola—as the core image. As the gondola rises, the passenger's view expands, revealing a clearer and more open landscape. When looking through the glass, they not only see the distant scenery but also their own reflection, a reminder that this journey belongs to them, and that their focus should return to themselves.

Extended the Key Visual across a wide range of brand applications. A narrative series of slender posters, crafted by bisecting A4 dimensions to unfold the story of the key visual. An interactive cable-car-inspired invitation that elevates the sensory experience through structural ingenuity. A minimalist, interactive Maokong map utilizing transparent overlays to create visual depth. Achieving a subtle iridescent radiance through the fusion of holographic paper and layered cut-outs.

Hidden Galls

Department of Visual Communication Design, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology

Focusing on the often-overlooked phenomenon of plant galls, this project selects eight native or commonly found Taiwanese plants as its medium. Through thermochromic panels and frosted model boxes, it simulates the process of “from hidden to revealed.” By means of interactive design, it reduces the gap in ecological understanding, allowing hidden microscopic structures in everyday life to be seen again. The project presents the specificity, diversity, and formation processes of galls, while encouraging viewers to slow down in a fast-paced world, reobserve nature, and rebuild the connection between humans and the microscopic ecosystem.
