Focusing on common service industries in Taiwan, this project highlights the real challenges faced by frontline workers—experiences that are often shared online but rarely expressed in the workplace. We found that many so-called “difficult customer” behaviors are not driven by malice, but by a gap in understanding caused by unseen behind-the-scenes processes. Using newspapers as the main medium, the project transforms everyday labor struggles into striking news events, revealing the hidden costs behind seemingly minor actions and encouraging reflection, awareness, and more considerate consumer relationships.
