This project reactivates a former textile factory through spatial regeneration, transforming its existing structure and material traces into a public, circular system. By preserving historical layers as an interface of time, the design creates a dialogue between past and present, extending the site’s industrial legacy with renewed social meaning.

Organized around “collection – sorting – remanufacturing – recirculation,” the scheme shifts linear production into an open, participatory process. Circulation paths are conceived as a spatial “weave,” translating material flows into experiential sequences while strengthening interactions between users and garments.

Through open workshops, classrooms, and exhibition spaces, the remanufacturing process becomes visible and collective. The project positions the space not only as infrastructure, but as a catalyst for social engagement and sustainable awareness.

Heart of the Harbor

To address the aging infrastructure and imbalanced usage of the Donggang fish market, this design centers on the reinterpretation of local culture. It integrates the unique characteristics of Donggang’s fishing industry while transforming the ritual process of the King Boat Ceremony into spatial experiences. The plan also connects surrounding facilities, integrating the ferry terminal and related nodes. By revitalizing the waterfront environment and making effective use of the market’s scenic coastal resources, the project aims to activate the market through cultural renewal and stimulate local economic development.
