The POOPSTAR AWARD is a competition dedicated entirely to feces.
In human society, excrement is generally regarded as something to be excluded, concealed, and loathed. Yet, behind the scenes, it has always been an active participant in our world, contributing to fields as diverse as the environment, economy, culture, and medicine. It reveals that the perceived value of a substance is never fixed by a single standard.
Therefore, we use a "competition" as our narrative framework. By transforming various animal droppings into subjects to be observed, evaluated, and voted on, we invite the public to participate in the polling process. This experience sparks a mental collision between the psychological impulse of abjection and the shifting standards of value, ultimately prompting people to re-examine how the boundaries between humans and non-humans are formed and redefined.
