After losing his beloved, the charitable doctor Fung Tak-fai could not bear the sudden collapse of his world; both reason and faith began to crack. He entrusted his endless grief to a gradually obsessive faith, firmly believing that only through salvation could he create a chance for his deceased wife to return to the living. Under the guise of a physician, he secretly crossed ethical boundaries and taboos, quietly stepping into forgotten ancient rituals in an attempt to call back the soul that had long sunk into darkness. At first, he convinced himself that everything was driven by good intentions, but as the rituals continued repeatedly, salvation gradually transformed into control, sacrifice was rationalized, and violence was cloaked in a holy facade. Meanwhile, Jiang Zhuo, a child he and his wife once personally saved, accidentally discovered his actions and made every effort to stop this descent carried out in the name of love. When the boundary between faith and madness entirely disintegrated, truth quietly decayed amid blood and prayers, and Fung Tak-fai gradually descended into an irreversible abyss, becoming the monster he had originally sought to save.
