四點設計 Contact to Rebirth of Rattan for cooperation

Rattan furniture was once a ubiquitous household item in early Taiwan, deeply woven into the fabric of our memories. However, it has gradually declined amidst the tides of industrial technology and shifting fashion trends.

Traditional rattan furniture involves intricate techniques such as bending, knotting, and weaving, making each piece unique but difficult to mass-produce and pass down. Inspired by this traditional craft, "Rebirth of Rattan" aims to reinterpret fading rattan furniture using modern industrial methods, creating contemporary rattan pieces. Through Rebirth of Rattan, we hope to evoke cherished memories and continue the beautiful traditions and craftsmanship in a modern form.

With a fresh look and modern vocabulary, the soul of old furniture is revived once again. With a fresh look and modern vocabulary, the soul of old furniture is revived once again. W:Daily | Home Furnishings Made From Upcycled Wood

Department of Design, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology

W:Daily (WooDaily) is a home brand dedicated to reducing waste wood and promoting material recycling. Using mineral powder and water-based resin as a medium, we create composite materials. We utilize offcuts and reclaimed wood, incorporating carnauba wax patterns that make each product unique. When products reach the end of their use, they are repurposed into secondary materials and reintroduced into the manufacturing process, starting a new cycle.
