Introduction
Swaying in Tension, Rooted in Serenity. The exhibition is curated by the Design Division of the Department of Arts and Design at National Tsing Hua University. Featuring works in metal craftsmanship, wood and bamboo crafts, product design, and cross-material creation, the exhibition integrates traditional craftsmanship with digital technology, exploring the intricate dialogue between materials and culture. Through the fusion of tradition and modernity, it presents a contemporary perspective on design. "Restless"—a state of uneasy slumber. In this rapidly shifting era, invisible pressures and anxieties weigh heavily upon us, leaving us sleepless through the night. In the world of art and design, creators, too, often sacrifice rest in pursuit of perfection, working tirelessly day and night to forge colors that transcend time.Black and white intertwine, symbolizing the cycle of day and night, while subtly mirroring the delicate entanglement of pressure and release. Violet islands and flowing lines sketch a dreamlike, transitional space—an echo of restless thoughts. Yet, they also reflect the madness and allure of the creative process. Restless Cay embodies this struggle and yearning. Upon Restless Cay, may we momentarily shed the burdens of reality, encounter art, and resonate with the soul. In the interplay of light and shadow, may we embrace the serenity and freedom that art itself weaves.
