Every town in Taiwan holds its own cultural narrative.
This project invites children in Maokong to rediscover the hidden stories of their hometown through an interactive educational toolkit designed to connect local culture with experiential learning.
Developed in collaboration with Wanxing Elementary School, the project integrates educational strategy with human-centered design. Drawing inspiration from Maokong’s landscape, ecology, tea industry, and religious life, a series of localized learning modules and hands-on teaching aids were created to transform abstract cultural knowledge into engaging, tangible experiences.
By encouraging observation, creativity, and discussion, the design supports students in exploring their everyday environment, fostering cultural awareness, emotional attachment to place, and a sustainable sense of civic responsibility.

The Human Feeling Stand

Department of Crafts and Creative Design, National University of Kaohsiung

In a world dominated by speed and efficiency, we aim to reinterpret ordinary yet authentic life experiences and rediscover the various forms of “emotional flow” that exist between people. Taking a breakfast shop as the entry point and “Emotional Landscapes in Breakfast” as the story’s core, the project transforms emotions into tangible “emotional creatures.” Through character IP design, it translates everyday emotional experiences into three distinct character figurines. By capturing these ordinary moments, the project aims to remind viewers that what is most worth cherishing is often found right in the midst of daily life.
